This year the salon won the Tipperary Hair Salon of the Year 2022/2023 prestige award, and also we were honoured with business All-star accreditation for the salon of Year 2023, Denise won the Business All-star accreditation for hair stylist of the Year 2023 and is a finalist in the Professional hair and beauty awards for business director of the year. And also a Tipperary Chamber of Commerce business finalist for 2023.

This has been an amazing year for Ní Ríain with winning the awards and we now have gone on to open a hair loss clinic within the salon. Having recovered from breast cancer and realising how difficult hair loss is for people and how many people buy wigs and never wear them because of little instruction on how to wear them and not feeling confident enough to wear them.

People don't realise the difficulties people need to overcome when wearing one.

I have embraced the hair loss clinic and love helping people, and I feel my cancer diagnosis has led me down a path I am grateful for to be able to help as many people as I can.

I am highly trained in hair loss as I have completed the oncology hair loss and skin care OTI accredited course and my training with Hair Contrast Ireland. I’ve also trained with leading trichologists to learn about different scalp ailments people have, like psoriasis and dermatitis, so I can best advise my clients.

I have trained in making secret spots and semi-permanent hair replacements for any sufferer of alopecia or female and male pattern baldness, this is a game changer for them as they don't have to wear wigs to camouflage their hair loss areas.

I have been hairdressing for nearly 30 years and have been the owner of Ni Riain's for the last 13 years. Throughout this time, the salon has progressed in many ways. I have always believed that education is the key to any successful business, and I am grateful that all the girls here too share that belief with them, constantly giving up their weekends to upskill and educate themselves on all the current trends and products.

Also having the right products and being aware of all new products coming onto the market so that my clients can always have the best products used on their hair.

We included the nail bar 6 years ago and this has been an amazing addition to the salon. Most of our clients love the convinience of been able to get their nails and hair done together.
